A Hub is a place where neighbors gather after a major disaster to seek and share information, identify hazards and urgent needs, and connect available community resources.
The Hub does not replace household preparedness. It does not store food or water, provide shelter, or deliver medical care.
The Roanoke Park Emergency Hub is part of Seattle's 72+ volunteer-run Emergency Communication Hubs that activate when normal services are disrupted.
Before a crisis, we help our neighborhood prepare through free drills, training, and practical information, including guidance on stocking basic supplies such as water and food. Creating your supply kit is the foundation of preparedness and helps the whole community be more resilient.
Where is it? The Roanoke Park Hub is located in Roanoke Park and run by neighborhood volunteers — neighbors just like you.
Everyone’s welcome. Join us to learn, practice, and help our neighborhood be more prepared together.

The Roanoke Park Hub serves ~1100 households, plus local businesses. That’s a lot of neighbors to connect with during an emergency.
The hub system work best when neighbors on the same block or in the same building already know each other and can send one or more delegates to and from the Hub during a disaster.
The City of Seattle created the Ready Together program (formerly called SNAP) to help facilitate this. Find out how to organize your own block here.
Seem overwhelming? It isn't if you start by being hyper-local! By preparing at home, you help prepare your neighborhood. By preparing your neighborhood, you help prepare your community hub.
