A HUB is a place where neighbors gather after a major disaster to seek and share information, identify hazards and urgent needs, and connect available community resources. The Roanoke Park Hub is part of Seattle's 50+ volunteer-run Emergency Communication Hubs that activate when normal services are disrupted.
To help our neighborhood BEFORE a crisis, our Hub provides free drills, trainings, and preparedness materials for everyone in the community. This includes guidance on stocking basic supplies like water and food. Creating your supply kit is the foundation of preparedness and helps the whole community be more resilient.
The Roanoke Park Hub is run by neighborhood volunteers — neighbors just like you.
Everyone’s welcome. Join us to learn, practice, and help our neighborhood be more prepared together.

The Roanoke Park Hub serves ~1100 households, plus local businesses. That’s a lot of neighbors to connect with during an emergency.
The hub system work best when neighbors on the same block or in the same building already know each other and can send one or more delegates to and from the Hub during a disaster.
The City of Seattle created the SNAP (Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare) program to help facilitate this. Find out how to organize your own SNAP block here.
Seem overwhelming? It isn't if you start by being hyper-local! By preparing at home, you help prepare your neighborhood. By preparing your neighborhood, you help prepare your community hub.
